Abercrombie & Fitch Sophomore Summit Collection
Subway Map Redesign: The Milan Metro
Challenged with creating a new clothing line for Abercrombie & Fitch that embodies the post-COVID sense of adventure, Abercrombie on Film was born. My team consisted of 8 fashion design, marketing, and graphic design student across 5 universities. My responsibilities for the collection included pattern design & graphic apparel design.
Our concept took inspiration from the 70s and past A&F collections from that era. Abercrombie on Film focuses on the idea of capturing the moments of adventure after being away from it for so long.
All teams had the opportunity to present the collections to current designers and directors at Abercrombie & Fitch and receive valuable feedback.
When tasked with redesigning a subway system- the map and interior & exterior signage- I chose Milan because of its incredible culture and sophisticated architecture.
For the trademark, I wanted the sophisticated feel of this fashion capital to translate in a minimal design. After creating the double arches inspired by the city's architecture, I used the symbol to create a repeat pattern than can be seen on both sides of the map.
I designed icons for the top 10 destinations to visit in the city. They can be easily located by using the alphanumeric grid on the map that correlates with the information on the backside.
